Biography:


Howard E. Kantrovitz was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 1969 and was later admitted to the Bars of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut (1970), the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit (1971) and the United States Supreme Court (1980). His practice includes collections, commercial litigation, commercial arbitration, commercial transactions, contracts, insolvency and bankruptcy, personal injury, real estate, wills and trusts, and general business and corporate matters. Mr. Kantrovitz has extensive experience in the areas of creditor’s and debtor’s rights and has represented thousands of creditors in collection litigation. He has been a member of the panel of Commercial Arbitrators for the American Arbitration Association since 1994. In that capacity, he has served as an Arbitrator in numerous arbitration matters. Mr. Kantrovitz is also a highly trained Mediator.

Mr. Kantrovitz received his BA degree from the University of Connecticut in 1966 and his Juris Doctor degree from the University Of Connecticut School Of Law in 1969. He has lectured frequently on the area of Debtor’s and Creditor’s Rights. Mr. Kantrovitz served on the Board of Directors of New Haven Legal Assistance Association from 1974 to 2007. He was elected to the Woodbridge Board of Education for two terms, 1983-1987 and 1987-1991. Mr. Kantrovitz was appointed to the Woodbridge Planning and Zoning Commission for the period 1993-1999. He was President of the Woodbridge Rotary Club from 2001-2002 as well as a member of the Board of Directors from 2001-2003. Mr. Kantrovitz is a member of the New Haven County and Connecticut Bar Associations and the Commercial Law League of America where he served as Chairman of the Eastern Region from 1989 to 1990 and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Commercial Law League of America from 1993 to 1996.
